Camaro 69 X44 vs 67 RS Convertible
X44 has 350, PS, PB, very clean.
RS convertible has 327 over 100K miles, PS, drum brakses. Also clean.
X44 has matching engine and auto trans.
RS has matching engine but non-matching powerglide.
Given the comparable prices, which do you think is a better investment? For me, the enjoyment factor is the same for both.
Thanks.

Am I remembering right the X44 option is just chrome trim? In the same condition at the same price its a no brainer. Rag tops bring the money and RS rag tops are very desirable. But if you planning on driving the car know that the rag top will never handle well as well as a hard top. I tend to drive a little hard through the corners but I don't push my 67 at all because when I do I can feel the body flex. Without major supports welded in place the rag top will not stick to the corners no matter what mods you do to the suspension.

X44 is just a base model car. Even though I'm pro-69, I think I'd opt for the 67 convertible for a few reasons. Rag tops can be more fun, it's an RS, and, convertible values can and have climbed faster than a comparable hard top.

I've looked at ebay and few other sites just to get an idea what 67 RS convertibles (some restorations and rust-free) go for. I was surprised to see them in 20-25K range since for the one that I looked at, the seller was asking around 32K (which I thought was too high to begin with). The engine is matching but over 120K and never built. It was repainted (red with stripes) few years back but is a 10-footer.
X44 has SS trims, veyr clean, and had color blue (which I prefer). I'd prefer X44 for about 26K if the other was not RS convertible. Man, i tell ya, i so want to get 67-69 camaro and it is SO hard!

69's started getting the X codes later in the production year. An SS would only have an X11 code, if built in that time frame, not X44.
But, X11 doesn't mean it's an SS car, as even a 6 cyl. car can have an X11 code.

in 1967, 64,842 total RS produced. did a vin lookup on this RS and total produced is 19,856. assuming this is total convertible out of 64,842. seems like purely for an investment, RS convertible is a better choice, even though X44 is a matching 350 and 1969. But it's also got the blue color i like and corvette rally wheels, and A/C.

You previously said the car was an SS clone. The 350 only came in the SS model. So it's either a matching numbers 350 (X11 SS), or an X44 car. You sure the engine is a 350, or that it is matching numbers? That doesn't add up.
