cam swap

RE: cam swap
No you don't need to remove the engine. Do you have a repair manual, that will come in handy. You need to remove the water pump, loosen the oil pan and drop it enough to be able to removethetiming chain cover, remove the timing chain/gears, remove the distributor, remove the intake manifold, remove the valve covers, loosen the rocker arms, remove the push rods and lifters, and remove the radiator to be able to slide the cam all the way out. If you already know about everything else, kindly disregard everything but the radiator part which answers your main question! However, if your cam bearings are shot, then you need to remove the engine.

I'm not trying to be an *** or anything, I just think if you're asking the question that you asked, you might be getting in a little over your head

RE: cam swap
I was just asking that because I had a mustang that i had to unbolt the motormounts and jack the motor up 5 or 6 in so it would fit because of the ground effects. It is possibe that the cam is to long to fit in between the motor and the body you know.

RE: cam swap
We changed cams in my '67 327 RS very easily without doing any more that what was posted earlier, removing the radiator gives you plenty of clearance to take the old cam out and slide the new one in.
