Out of curiosity....It looks like the frame mounts/brackets on my car are the 2"ish tall ones.. IF i were to install shorter frame mounts to lower the engine, would this affect the transmission or any other part of the vehicle, or would it be "plug and play" for lack of a better term. I'm just curious as to if there would be any unforeseen side effects to installing shorter frame mounts.

I would like to ask if your referring to engine mounts? If you lower the engine would it effect other things.. Out of the gate look to see if you have clearance to allow it, oil pan, fan to fan shroud, exhaust clearance from hitting, lower crank pulley clearance from sway bar. This also means your raising the tail shaft of the transmission will it clear, driveline, will you create an improper pinion angle. These are the things I can think to look for just remember on some of these things an inch up or down on the mounts may mean inch plus in other areas. What or how much lift lowering are you shooting for?

Referring to the mounts that connect the engine mounts to the frame. I was just curious, since the Distributor is hitting the firewall if using the smaller mounts/brackets/stands, whatever they're called would bring it down without affecting a lot of other things, and from your response i believe it would.
These are the mounts i was looking at

If it were me, I would not buy something unless I know its going to fix my problem, and not create a whole bunch more.. Maybe look to replace the distributor which sounds more like the problem. Just my 2 cents worth..
