Price seems to good to be true but to high to be a scam. A friend of mine is looking into it.

Scammers don't usually put their phone numbers in the ad. The guy probably needs the money more than the car. In this economy, 25k doesn't sound like a ridiculously low price for a project like that.

 

Must be a misprint, ad actually says $25. Does he mean $2,500. or $25,000.

 

"The motor alone is half of my asking price". $2500 for the car? I bet he has a tad more than $1250 in the engine.
I've seen quite a few craigslist ads where people only use two digits, guess their keyboard must be running low on zeros. It's annoying because you sometimes can't tell what they mean.

 

I never even thought of that. I have been around car dealer so long I forget that dropping the zeros is not normal. At a auction if you have a beat up old 94 v6 and someone offers you 9 bucks for it before the auction is saying $900. If you have a 02 SS mint and he offers you 9 bucks he is offering you $9000. It would be very rare for two dealers to off by a magnitude of 10. I dont think I have ever seen it. It does not transition over the text adds very well. Some of the dealers do it so much they may not even realize.

I know those 502's are around the 12K mark, add in all that other upgraded chorme he has to had 18-20 just in those upgrades. Now add in its a friken 69 rag top with a RS nose on it. Seems like a sweet deal.

 

Me thinks he just dropped off the "K".
