Default air conditioning

hey i have a 69 camaro and i've tried to have vintage air put in it but it just keeps breaking over and over again and i'm tired of spending the money to have it fixed. i've heard that you can put the ac compressor and all from a 99 malibu in the camaro and it will work. anybody know if thats true or not?

the guy that owned the car b4 me put the air conditioning in it and had no idea what he was doing so it never has worked right. there have been lots of leaks and all kinds of other stuff. i've had it in the shop at least 4times for the ac quittin on me and i'm done throwing money at something that nobody can seem to make work.

if it is just leaks, you should just take out all your hoses and get new ones made. if the guy that did it before you was a hack, you are just better off replacing all the hoses and lines instead of chasing them one by one.

the thing with A/C systems is that if there is a leak and it gets fixed, the system is under high pressure so all it's going to do is find the next weak link and fall apart there, just like in a car's drivetrain
