Hello all, newbe to your forum! and would like to start out with a question ... I recently bought a 69 RS Camaro that had what I would call a 85% ground up restoration, I am working on some fine tuning to my liking. The previous owner added all the SS stuff including a (1969) BIG BLOCK 396, deluxe interior etc, along with
fresh hugger orange with white Z/28 stripping paint and Z/28, RS badging, I am now changing the badging to SS which seems to go better with the car as it is done now.
My question ? did only the 69 396 SS cars have a blacked out rear panel or did the SS / RS 396 also have the blacked out rear panel? thanks in advance .. hondo

 

the black panel went with the big block ss cars no matter what. so yes its even on rs/ss cars. as long the car was a big block. thats the way it ws from the factory

OK thanks for that info, does anyone know what shade of black is correct for that rear panel? thanks hondo
