69 Camaro- Wanted!
Hello, just joined the CF.
I just finished a C3 Corvette project. I am not officially an owner of a Camaro yet, but I am partial to the 1st Gen Camaro's. My first choice is a 69.
I know many of these are junkers or very nice restorations. I am sort of looking for one middle of the road. Even without an engine but not a rust bucket. Not sure what the price range is for a 10 footer with minor cosmetic needs and one that runs. Mainly interested in upgrading the engine, trans and rearend. I hope to find one with a decent body and interior. Not looking for a show car. I had a 79 Z28 year ago, back in high school.
1. What price range could I expect?
2. What are obvious warning signs to look for when considering a purchase? I had to go thru this with the Vette, so I have experience.
3. My plan B if I am unable to find a decent affordable 69 is a 2nd Gen Camaro 70-73.
4. Went to the NHRA drag races last year and the 8, 9, 10, 11 second cars seemed to have an over abundance of 69 camaro race cars. I hope there is some left for the street.
Any tips, help, directions would be appreciated.
