69 Camaro Convertable
In the trunk, bolted to the trunk and quarter panel, there are two vertical, cylindrical tanks. One mounted on each side. They are about 4 inches diameter, 12 inches tall. What are they? I am guessing they are part of a power top assembly, but this car does not have a power top. Standard install on convertables with the power assembly added on when specified?

I think they are what is know as "traction compound dispenser's" RPO V75 (I think).Just to the left (as you are looking at it from inside the car) of he steering column there would have been a buton installed, it would poke down, towards the floor and activate the canisters.

Sounds to me like you are describing what are commonly referred to as "cocktail shakers". They are oil filled and are called Harmonic Dampeners. There are 4 of them, 1 in each corner of convertibles only. Their function is for stability in cornering and to absorb vehicle vibrations.
