Default 69 camaro chassis

Would you consider a camaro that is stripped and is a project with just the motor mocked on the subframe chassis or a motor vehicle? It cannot move on it's own power not registered or have license plate. It was built ground up from a rust bucket and have not seen the streets in 10 years

the sad truth is that a lot of people with buy a car with the intentions of doing the restoration them selves and then a few years into it just forget about it and then sell it, I have seen projects change hands (I was a corvette guy same issues) many times with each person doing a little more and then it always stalls out again and just sits there till the next guy comes along.

You can get some good deals this way, as I found that many times as it changes hands they last person has spent more and more money buying all the part so you just end up with a puzzle that you just have to put back together with a great savings to the wallet.

to answer your question, I would if I found the right deal, one that was done right (to many I had seen had been cutting corners trying to rush the job) and if I had the space and time to do it.

What do they have in parts, skins, and do they have paper trail on the motor so you know what it is your getting?

Is your question whether this condition is considered a motor vehicle or just a chassis?

So, when is a car not a car? I don't quite understand the point of the question.
If it has a title, it's considered a "shell of a car". If there is no title, it's only a "parts car".

Who ran the title, the DMV? You take a big chance buying a car without a title with no history. If the DMV or sheriff comes out to inspect your car, run the numbers, and then find out it's stolen, they take you away in cuffs. Then you'd have to prove you're not the one who stole the car.

That's how they do it in Chicago, huh? Most places they take the car and question you. Then the long sad story begins, as you explain your side. Knew a fellow that it happened to. Was not a complete car and he lost it and his purchase money. The motor was out of it and under the bench and was never mentioned. Was not a total loss after all.

Oh I dunno, maybe grand theft auto is frowned upon a little more up here.
