Default 69 BB rear suspension

Changing a Camaro to a BB updating suspension, does the upper shock mounts need to be relocated ?

Nope don't think so,I did a SB to BB swap decades ago in a '69 and swapped in a 12 bolt in place of the 10 bolt rear, don't recall any shock mount relocation

I believe this is required for some 67's. The original SS's had bad wheel hop and shock placement was one of several changes made to fix it.

Yup I've heard this too but shouldn't be an issue in a '69.
