it might be something from the dealership it originaly came from.

 

Does the car now have a 6 cylinder engine, or maybe it's not a real SS to begin with? The 250 c.i. L6 is a 4.1L engine, although that distinction wasn't being used back then. Maybe the guy is just being goofy with the numbers. Hey, I have a brilliant idea, walk across the street and ask the owner what it means.

 

Maybe that's an inside joke and the guy has a 5 speed in it.
