Default 67 numbers

Is there a way to tell if the motor and trans.came with the car. I cannot find a partial VIN on motor. It is the correct motor and trans, according to trim tag, but am looking for proof it is THE engine.

You need to find the casting number. Look towards the rear of the motor, drivers side. Right under where the head connects , there is a casting number. Cross check it with this ( https://camaroforums.com/m_79309/tm.htm) and you will know. If the casting number for the motor in your car is the right one for he year of your car, odds are its THE engine.

The casting numbers do reflect this is the correct engine. I was just hoping maybe I was missing some proof that it was THE engine. I guess the same would go for the trans., as long as it is a 2 speed powerglide, I should consider it THE tranny
