67 Front end Rebuild
I am rebuild a 67 I purchased in March. I"m in the process on sandblasting the frame assy and painting but I'm confussed and looking for some suggestions on which front end bushing's to use. I will be driving It but also showing the car. I'm looking for good performance but with no noise. Thanks Guy's
as long as you use the grease that is included with whichever bushings you buy, you will have no problems with noise. it usually sucks to apply, but use plenty of it (it doesn't hurt to buy extra). a lot of people skimp out on it and thats why they have noise/squeaking problems
Go with urethane bushings. Rubber is alright but under performance conditions they can exhibit deflection(flexing) that can take some parts out of alignment. Also, rubber will age at a rate that is 4x that of urethane. The only drawback is the subframe mounting bushings, the urethane bushings will transmit bumps to the body a bit more than rubber. Some people find that objectionable.
69SS is right, use the grease that comes with the kit, use plenty!
