67 coupe cloning to SS

Camaroboy, thanks for the info! My 67 originally came with a column shift and st6 engine. It has been changed to a floor mounted B&M shift and a 350ci V-8. It has also had an SS hood installed. My question is this, what else do I need to do to turn her into an SS clone? I know I need to install all the badging but must I apply a nose stripe also? Did all SS package cars come with a nose stripe or hockey stripes? What about steering & brake modifications? Would appreciate any insight or knowledge you guy's could provide.

in 67 the only stripe that was offered on the ss was the nose strip. if you want to add one then put one on but you could get a 67 ss with out the stripe. the underside of a true ss camaro included a 12 bolt rear end, sway bars, multi-leaf rear spring, and on 67's a torque arm ( used to cancel wheel hop under hard acceleration caused by having the both shock mounts on the same side) and then like you already said all of the ss badgeing that goes in the grill,fenders, gas cap, and the steeing wheel.

Thanks for the response and guidance! I think for now I will forego the nose stripe and I will have to check and verify the rear end and suspension. I am presently shopping for the SS badging. Would it be better to put on 350-ss badging or plain ss badging? Does it really make a diference?

Just a quick note, 68 mentioned sway bars, but if I believe there was no rear sway bar per se, it was a wheel hop torsion bar, a single bar mounted to the rear end which runs parallel to the drive shaft on the passenger side to prevent wheel hop.
As for badging it just matters if you want to be motor and production date specific. Of course, it's a clone, so in the end who really cares. Early production runs of the SS option only came with 350, in the later part of the production run a 396 was available.
What are the differences?
Badging is an easy one, Grill, V-Flag, Gas Cap, Horn Button and the color of the rear panel. The SS350 or 4P car is designated with SS350 Grill Emblem, 350 V-Flag, SS350 Gas Cap, SS Horn Button, and same color rear panel. On the mechanicals side I believe heavy duty F-41 Springs and a 12 bolt rear as was mentioned were the only real defining mechanical factors. Brakes could go drums on all 4 corners or could have discs in the fronts..just mattered how the car was ordered.
The 396 Model has the same badging minus the 350 designation, the V-Flag indicates a 396, and the rear valance was painted black. I also believe that you could not have A/C with the 396 model, but I would have to check that.

You could get ac on all the motors except the solid litter 375hp 396 in 67. And yeah now when I think about it they had only a front sway bar but they did have the traction bar on the ss cars only 67 has that. They changed the shock mounts in 68 that eliminated the need for it

The traction bar would not be required on a 350-SS clone. The 350 SS started production in 66 the Traction bars did not start going in until January of 67. All big blocks have them cause they did not start putting the big blocks in until about the same time.

Umm...yeah...I don't think that's correct Gorn. The traction bar or wheel hop bar came out at the beginning of production due to wheel hop and the fact that a 13 inch wheel came with the original proto-type. Wheel hop was so bad, they upped the wheel size to 14 and tossed on the torsion bar.
However, it would be ridiculous to try and put one on today. It would require either finding an OEM SS rear end (good luck) or modifying. Simply switching to a Posi would eliminate the problem anyways.
