With the T56 6 speed you will probably have to modify the tunnel, which causes problems using the stock console.

With a T5, you probably wont have to modify the tunnel. The T5's are similar in dimension to the old 4 speeds. However, the standard light-duty T5 is not a performance piece. The WC T5 is only is marginally better. But with either there's an issue with the 18 degree cant.

That leaves the TKO 500 and TKO 600. Both come in kit form and both are supposed to fit without modifying the tunnel. This is a very popular swap. Do a search here or on google for lots of info about this.

Normal you just shim the pinion angle with a shim on one of the u-bolts.

WC t5 came on the late 80's Mustangs, Camaro and the S10s. The Camaros have an odd case with a 15 rotation between the bolt pattern and the shifter mounting. This is because GM rotated the T5 15 degs so it would fit in the tunnel better.

Hello, Will I have to cut another hole in my tunnel for the shifter,or can I use my original hole that muncie used? Where's the best place to buy the parts for this transplant, motor mounts, cross member and so on. I have to look for a trans because the engine I found came with an automatic unless I decide to use Automatic trans instead of a stick. Dave
