Question 67 Camaro Leaf spring

I have a 67 Camaro resto mod project I am working on. The rear stance is a little high for my taste. The way it sits now the rear shocks are fully extended out and when i go over a bump when the shocks decompress you will hear the. I was told that the reason it sits high is because the leafs that were put on the car were from a 69 Z-28 and the leafs had a more dramatic arc.

Does this make sense? is it valid or did i get told a line?

If they are off of a 69 Z they should be 4 leaf, any other 69 multi should be 5 leaf. You can purchase rear springs with drops from most performance places, (jegs, summit).

I was told recently that if you change out the rear shackles to aftermarket ones that increase the distance between the pins, that will raise the rear end. My shackles are about 4 inches from pin to pin with no extra holes.

Before I went out and bought new springs I would take a close look at the Shackles. Shackles are helluva lot cheaper than springs, not to mention the fact that your shocks are fully extended....leading me to believe the issue is in Shackles.

Take a Tape Measure and measure the Shackles from bolt to bolt, then check them against stock 67's.
