Default 502 Crate Motor in 1969 Camaro

Restoring a 1969 and have the opportunity to pick up a new 502 crate motor very reasonable. Couple of questions, will I have any problems fitting this in the engine compartment, and secondly the motor was originally produced for by gm for marine use. Can anyone tell me the difference between this motor and one produced for automotive use.

No you will not have any trouble fitting it in.
Marine engines are set up to cool differently. Automotive engines rely on fresh air to aid in cooling while most marine engines are installed below decks or in a covered engine compartment where fresh air is limited, even absent. They have to rely strictly on water cooling. The heads, intake and exhaust are set up differently than automotive engines.

Thanks for the information. I did find some blogs thru google that discussed this issue in depth. They pretty much agree with your facts.
