327 or 350! What do i have??
I have a 67 camaro that i just bought. The past owner told me the car has a 350 in it that was from 1967. But the cars tag says it is not an ss model so i know that the car could not come with a 350 stock. The tag does say that it has a V8 stock though. So i am assuming this car had the 327 in it stock. I can not get to the engine tag so i need to know if there is a way i can look at the motor and see if it is a 350 or a 327. What can i look for? Thank you!
theres no external differences between a 327 and a 350. there should be a pad on the front of the block with some numbers and maybe some letters. the last 6 or so digits are the same last amount of digits to the cars vin # that the motor was installed in from the factory. if your last 6 digits of your cars vin # match the last 6 on the pad on the motor then its more than likely a 327 but if they dont then you could have either motor. you will then have to pull the numbers of the back of the block.
Great! Thank you. Do you know where exactly the numbers on the back are? Can i get to them from the bottom or do i have to pull the motor just to see what motor i have? Thank you!!
