Default 2" Drop Rear Springs

Hey guys got another question. I have decided I like the look and handling features of going with a 2" drop springs in the rear. My question is what size wheel and tires should I use. I see these all the time on cars with 18" rims with low profile tires where the quarter panel looks like it is only about an inch from the top of the tire how does this work without the tire rubbing. I know there is someone out there that has figured this out. My problem is I have a new set of 15 inch rims that I would like to use. Here is the other kicker my rear rims are 10" wide. I am not adverse to buying a set of 8" rims for the rear just really want to know what size tire I should be using where everything is going to look right. Thanks

it all depends on which brand of tire (they actual sizes differ from one manufacturer to another, even for the same tires), the backspacing of the rims, and sometimes the cars actually vary themselves

you also don't even say what year your car is

Sorry I have a 1967 camaro, the rims are 15x10 with 3.75" of backspacing. The type of tires that I have now are Dayton Dayton SR's.Thanks,

that is no where near enough backspacing for what you want to do

You are going to have trouble fitting anything 10" wide in a 67.

On a 69 camaro I have torq thrust 2's that are 17 diamater by 9.5 wide with a 5.5 inch backspace, which leads me to beleive your 3.75" backspace will push your rims way outside the outside of the wheelwell, at least 1-1.5 inches.

The BFG Gforce KDW tires are 275-40-17's and the tread is just over 10" that hits the pavement...
But the widest part of the tire is acutally on the sidewall which is 10 and 3/4" wide, which tends to be that part that rubs on the sharp outerwheel house lip (unless you trim them)

Hope this helps.
