2" drop on my 68ss
So I want to drop my car with 2" lower spindles. Problem is under hard braking and rough roads they rub already.(barely) but enough to be annoying. I have a B.B. car with brand new springs. I have factory 4 piston calipers. Im running a 225-35-18 tire on a coys 18x7 wheel with 4.25" backset. Is there any clue if aftermarket drop spindles can "tuck em" any more? I contacted coys and they said I can machine 1/4" off the inside of the wheel!! Sounds drastic. I could run a little neg. camber but who wants to do that? I have a 2" gap between tire and well and just want that retro mod look damn it!

I assume your tire sidewall is hitting the upper arch portion of the fender lip? Would rolling the lip give you enough clearance? How close is it?

RE: 2" drop on my 68ss
I installed a drum to disc conversion with 2 inch drop on a customers 68 Camaro. The track width was the same as factory. I do not know of anyone selling spindles that would narrow the track.
We did have to machine a set of wheels for a 50 Chev custom. It works although it was rather spendy to do. Still it was cheaper than buying new wheels.
Could you downsize your tires a bit for more clearance?

YEa. I can see the screw head holding the fender trim is nicely rubber polished. I found tubular a arms with a 1" shorter length. Who's got a g to spend on parts to take corners in this econ. I just wanna go straight.
