1st gen wheels
So. I'm having an issue with finding wheels that will fit my car.
I know my bolt battern but not really sure on back spacing etc.
Any threads that are hidden or web sites with this info.
Right now I have cragers 15x1? On the rear with 295/50/15's.
I hate these wheels and want something different.
But I know nothing about different set ups.
Any suggestions on web sites, wheel diameter, width, back spacing. Know anyone selling used. What ever info will be helpful

I'm very new here, but when I looked up wheels and tires that wouldn't rub, I seemed to find that 235/60/15 is the preferred size of tire if you want all 4 tires to be the same size. Hopefully someone else can back me up, but this is what my experience has shown thus far.

Just go to a good tire store, they have info on what fits every car. When I went to get rims for my 92 the guy told me to pick out style I liked and what size ( 16 17 18 what ever ) and then he would check to see what width would fit my car and if they could get them to fit my car.

im not sure how well these would fit, but i like em', they have a retro look, they're relatively cheap, and they're 10" wide. but i'm not sure if you want 20 inch rims

You wrote 15x1?
I think that may be 15x7. I believe these are the same size that the z28's got from the factory. Overall they are the biggest tire ( some people say 15x8 but others claim they still rub) for the front without rubbing issues with the tie rods.

Carguy68ssrs is absolutely right when he suggests going to a tire/wheel shop for a number of reasons. First of all it does you no good to find a wheel you like only to find out it isn't compatible with your ride. It also doesn't sound like you want to stay with your current set-up so your range could be 15", 16", 17", 18", 45's, 50's, 60's, then you have back spacing issues of 4, 4.5, 4.75, 5+, not to mention availability of different manufacturers and models. None of this even includes matching the rubber to the metal.
Somebody else's backspacing has to take into account discs or drums for fronts, tubbed or stock, wheel well lips rolled or not for rears.
If you are looking for the same size but just a different type of wheel, take a wheel off, tape a string on the edge of the inner rim, pull it across and tape it to the other side, take a ruler and measure from lip of the hub up to the string for your backspacing.
Again, any good tire/wheel shop will be happy to do it for you, provide suggestions based on what your looking for, what you want out of the car and give you all the info that you will need.
