Default 1969 Yenko/SC restoration

My uncle, dad, and I are about to begin work on '69. My dad has a '67 and I had a '69 that I ran around in HS with but it was a convertible with a crap engine and I like the look of the coup. My uncle had a coup so we "traded." We've got a LS1 with a T56 were going to put in as a daily-driver. If all goes well, we'll put another LS1 in his the convertible. I haven't actually seen this car but he was excited about it because of the heavy rear-end and extras. He sent me this pick and my eyebrows went up. Suddenly I'm wondering if our plan is the correct one for this car. It doesn't have the original 427 so what do you think we should do with it?? Without the original engine do we just go ahead and drop the LS1 into it and keep driving or should we be treating this differently? Is it worth anything more than a normal '69 without the factory engine?

Well I was gonna say if it's a real deal I'd source a 427 and put it back as original as possible but if it's a repop well just do whatever ya want with it.

Since its a Yenko I would put a 427 back in it .There are crate engines .As well try to find an original engine are options .Since the cars are rare. You can build another "bowtie" car with an LS then.

With it only being a tribute the only thing "yenko" would be left is the rear end, suspension, and maybe dash, correct? I'm just not sure it would really be worth the extra cost to go all out. Would it be unacceptable to put an ls1 in it and still have it painted as a yenko? Or is that just... wrong.

Those parts are not likely numbers matching to a Yenco car anyway, the decal is even a repop so there's nothing "real" Yenco about it.
