Default 1969 pinchweld trim replacement

Purchased OER brand pinchweld trim(attaches to the body where the rear of the door closes against) for '69 convertible. I'm returning it because of the poor fit. The slot for the screw isn't large enough and it appears to twist way out of shape if installed. Anyone have a recommendation for a different manufacturer? I'm assuming OER isn't the only supplier. For $80 pr., I don't think I should have to grind the slot large enough for the original screw to fit through. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Welcome to the world of reproduction parts. If you grind the slot bigger, the metal piece pulls out of the piece when you try to make it fit. Ive wanted to curse many suppliers. The only alternative is to try to find NOS stuff. Most interior stuff comes from PUI.

yeah if you want parts to fit like they should without making them look for original stuff. there are no really good aftermarket parts that fit perfect.

Default repro parts

I've previously restored mid-year vettes and am very familar with" exact reproduction" parts. In my opinion they should say "NOT exact reproduction". For some reason I was hoping they were better for Camaros. I'll try another supplier and see if I can do better.
