1969 Camaro Transmisson Problems
Hey i got a couple of questions.
I have a 1969 Camaro 350 with a muncie M20 4 speed. I just rebuilt the 4 speed ( new syncros, 1st gear new, cluster gear new and seals)
i put a ram Diaphram clutch in it with a Lakewood scattershield, long throwout bearing, and lakewood clutch fork.
I have the clutch adjusted pretty well.
Problem is that i have to bury the clutch all the way to floor to shift into 1st gear when sitting at a light or stop sign. Should i adjust the clutch more. The throwout bearing is pretty close to the pressure plate and i dont want it to ride on their all the time.
Also is when driving is 4th gear it sounds like the throwout bearing is spining with the clutch is this possible.
Thanks

RE: 1969 Camaro Transmisson Problems
you should have about 1 in play at the top of the petal when ajusting
now u can not put youre foot on the petal and push 1 in, you need to
grab the petal by hand pull it all the way up and then u get youre 1 in from there
when the petal is all the way to the floor and is bieng released the clutch will grab
about 1 1/2 to 2 in off the floor, this is correct.
