Default 1969 camaro frame rail replacement

I have a 1969 camaro undergoing a frame off restoreation. I am installing the front half of the driver side frame rail not the whole rail. But I just wanted to clearify for people that are replaceing whole frame rails that I have heard that if you remove both frame rails that the body has a tendency to spread. Has this happened to anyone?

It's been known to happen, that's why you should brace the body by welding from the base of the A-pillar to A-pillar. Across the door openings and across the rear.

Well when I bought the car about a month ago it already had some steel welded in where the rear panels mount in the back where the quarter windows are and then connected to the driveshaft tunnel. Its welded in well and isn't going anywhere so is this enough to keep the body from spreading? Also i'm only replaceing the drivers side.
