I was able to track down some of the info from my cowl tag, but would appreciate some help in deciphering it... The main thing that I can't find is what the L688 means.

You have one of the unusual trim tags. That's a build tracking number for the LOS assembly plant. The letter refers to the working day of the month (A-Z = 1-26); L=12th working day. And your car was the 688th one built that day.
