Did the 1969 Camaro 396 SS come available as an automatic on the tree? I’m looking to buy one that it was on the tree and converted to the floor but has a TH-400 automatic tranny.

 

As long as you didnt order a floor shift as an option .It would come as a automatic on the column..There are a number of options for those cars .Like they would come with a bench seat .Unless you ordered bucket seats. And since its your car just build it the way you want to .You are paying the bills.

I believe a console was an option on any Camaro, including SS. There was not floor mounted automatic, just console mounted automatic. If you ordered an SS automatic, and no console, it would be column shift. Big block cars should all be T-400 if automatic.
