Default 1968 aluminum headed 427 car. What is it???

So from some family friends we are going to be picking up this car, it is in very rough shape and is in fact missing the engine and transmission, however doing some Vin research I found a thread here on the Camaro forum from 2001 of someone saying they bought it from the original owner (a family friend to them) who bought the car new in 1969 off the show room floor in arizona with the 427 in it for $4400.

So as it seems 15 years ago the car still had the engine and transmission in it, no idea where it went since then. But I'd like some light shed on what this car could possibly be as apparently the previous owner talked to **** Guld strand back in 01 and he stated that Dana only used mondellos port servicing for there cars and the mondello port serv was stamped on the inside of the head on the car. However it does not have the Dana hood and Idk what other characteristics it would have to make it a dana car. Anyways, anybody that can shed light on this would be greatly appreciated, I have horrible pictures of the car at the moment due to the fact it's covered in black berry bushes.

In 1967, Yenko Chevrolet would order a 396 big block SS Camaro, and swap in a 427. For 68 and 69, Yenko found a way to get GM to install the 427 at the factory, still based on a big block SS model. However, according to the numbers in those other threads, the block casting was for a 1969 Corvette/passenger car. Without the use of time travel, it would have been difficult for GM to build a new 1968 Camaro using a 69 engine. Also, the heads were for a 67 Corvette, the numbers just don't add up. Now, it's possible, that the car originally came with a 427, and the block that was later in it was a replacement (the CE code it had means it was a service replacement or sold over the counter short block). But, without any documentation, all you have is a "story", no proof of what it might have been. And I like the shifter it has, not your normal "three on the tree", lol. Man that car is in rough shape.

I definitely see what you mean lol, it's just interesting they got ahold of guld strand, really wish I knew what happened after they sent pictures of the car to him. And yeah it's in rough shape. But it's a car worth saving regardless if it had a 427 or not here's some of the options I've found so far
SS package Big block (unknown cid)
RS package
AC
Vinyl top
Muncie 4 speed
Custom bench seat code 715
Strato headrests
arm rest for middle of bench seat
Fold down back seat
12 bolt rear end
4 piston caliper disc brakes
Power brakes
Power steering

And that's what I've figured out so far from this car that in itself is pretty impressive. I've heard bench seat 4 speed cars are rare, but this one has headrests, a center arm rest as well as an RS package.

All you can do is gather bits and pieces to try and verify your suspicions. What speedometer does it have? The Yenko 427 came with a 140 mph speedo, as well as a bigger 1-1/8" front sway bar.

I'm not sure on the speedo or sway bar, I do have this pic though not sure how visable the difference would be between stock and the Yenko one, my suspensions are it possibly being a dana car but of coure it being any sort of Dana, Yenko car is unlikely.

There's just something irreplaceable about a big block!

Front sway bar looks to be 1" or less diameter.
You can use a quarter for quick reference as they are 0.95" diameter.
