RE: 1967 fire wall color
So are we talking about inside the engine bay? And is there a benefit to painting it black? I was going to do mine the same color as the car.

I haven't found anything in my research to indicate the engine bay was painted the same color as the car from the factory. I will do more looking around and see if I come up with anything.

cplthomas and those following this thread: Today I took the time to unlayer the paint in a couple of places on the firewall of this project 67 convt.. I found 3 layers, the yellow one I put on, the original yellow and a grey underlayer on the bare metal. There is NO black paint on this firewall, nor has there been! This car according to the plate on the firewall was built the 2nd week of Jan. 1967. Another strange, I have the protecto plate that my father in-law kept with the carand it states the car was delivered to him on 1-14-67 The car was (which had been ordered by my father in-law), built at the Norwood plant in Ohio where we live, transported, prepped and delivered the same week, how's that for getting a new car in a timely manner! hipirn

Thats pretty cool. BTW I highly recommend you hold on to the protect-o-plate. You just increased the value of your car with just those words.
