I just purchased a 1967 Camaro where the previous owner installed a B&M Starshifter but did not reconnect the backup light switch, nor the neutral safety switch. I wasn't aware until I noticed that I didn't have backup lights.
So, I need help on how to get my lights and neutral safety switch going. I found the light green, dark green, pink and purple wire connection under the dash on the steering colum. Do I just unplug them and run a wire from the shifter to the plug under the dash?

These are pretty straight forward trace out the proper wires get a assembly manual. The starter interrupt wire goes to the neutral safety switch I don't know the colors off the top of my head. The backup lights are easy to find just look at the backup lights colors and those are just 12 volts to the switch and the other side is the color that matches the backup light wire. You can test just buy applying 12 volts to the wire and the lights come on..

Purple is the start wire that you want to splice a neutral safety switch into: https://www.summitracing.com/search/...afety-switches

Thanks,
I found the wires that need connecting, and I know which pair are for NSS and backup lights. What I need to know is which connects to the top plug and which goes on the bottom plug for each of the switches. The switches themselves are not labeled.

The wires I found are actually pink, light green and then another light green and a dark green.
The B&M Star Shifter has the NSS and backup light switches (B&M website is useless). I've tried all combinations of connections and nothing works. I cannot get the backup lights to work.
Any help will be appreciated.

First buy a power probe for electrical work there worth every penny of the 100 it costs. Start testing wires with the power probe or a volt meter.. You should have 12 volts on at least one wire.. Probably will be light green wire or pink. Then apply 12 volts to the dark green and see if the backup lights are on.. It is a simple switch and one wire has 12 volts the other goes to the bulbs in the rear.. The pink wire should also have 12 volts again test with power probe or voltmeter. These test should be performed with key in the on or run position. After finding the wire with 12 volts figure out the wire feeding the backup bulbs. If no wire seems to turn on the bulbs more testing in the back of the car at the bulb socket. You will need to test verify fuses and bulbs are working.. The NSS will only have 12 volts when the key is turned to start the engine. It is a engine start interrupt. If your engine is starting you will need to find where the wires been bypassed that feeds the neutral safety switch..
