Default 1967 Camaro Convertible Pricing Question

I am in the market for a 1st Gen Camaro RS/SS (automatic). Looking for some summer driving but this might be overkill. A classic car dealer just took delivery on a 1967 RS/SS Convertible. This is what I know about the vehicle so far in conversations with the dealer. The details match the cowl tag and VIN information

1-year old frame off restoration
Nantucket Blue with white trim and white top
Convertible Custom Interior
396/325 V8
Power-glide Auto
Air Conditioning
Power Windows
Bright Blue Custom Buckets
Fold Down Rear Seat
All Tinted Windows
Center Console
Rear Seat Speaker
Remote Mirrors
Bumper Guard, Floor Mats, Edge Guard
Built November 1967 5th week
Power Steering
OD reads mid 50K

Couple of photos were sent. Any thoughts at what price point you would have to look in person versus moving on?

396 did not come with a power glide. The only automatic used with the big block was the Th400. Does it have a 12 bolt rear? Have you verified that cowl tag info and it calls for the RS SS options?

"Built November 1967 5th week"
That does not sound right for a 67. Normally Car manufacturers switch over to the next year in July. They would have 68's at the dealership by September.

Gorn not sure of the 12-bolt rear I will email the seller. Here are a few more pictures including the tag. I may not have interpreted the information correctly. I will verify the tag information. The dealer just received the car today and took photos for me without really even cleaning the car. Looks to be in good shape and might be to good for a summer driver.

Are those pics full res? Can you tell if its a 2 speed or a 3 speed? Kinds looks like 1/2/D. I have never seen a 396 with a power glide from the factory. I have seen a couple places it said it was not an option. I can say, while a power glide can be made to handle massive HP, in its stock form ever the the straight 6's could rip it apart. The M35 was used in some cases with a Th400 and a console.

Maybe someone else can help out with the date. I found the below:

"This is composed of two digits (01 thru 12 corresponding to each month of the model year) and a letter (A thru E corresponding to the week of the month) and indicates when the assembly of the body was started. For example 11C means the body assembly was started during the 3rd week of November of the model year (not the calendar year)."

I am not a 100% sure what that means? November of 66 can't be right cause they did not start the Big Blocks until after the first of the year 1/1/67. But November of 67 they would have been building 68's

Stix - the priced seemed reasonable for the condition and the options. I would like to find out if folks on this board feel that price is a premium or if appears to have been discounted a bit due to the economy.

Considering I do not have the expertise, the time, the tools, the room to work, or the patience my only option is a turnkey purchase like this .

Just when I find this car - I also find this beauty - love that color

1969 Camaro SS - Factory Super Sport - 350/300hp, Turbo Automatic, 3.73 Posi Rear, Factory AM/FM With Dealer Install 8 - Track, Rosewood Steering Wheel, Center Fuel Guage, Tilt Wheel, Rear DeFogger, Factory Tach, PS, PDB, Original LOF Glass, T3 Headlights, Chambered Exhaust, SS Wheels With Polyglas Tires,

If you are not sure you want a rag top don't get a rag top. They are cool but they can be a pain and they are a sloppy car. They do not handle as well as a hard top. You will never be able to take a rag to to a drag strip and you will have to worry about twisting the body with that 396. The hard top on the other hand can be driven hard.

Owning a rag top is like living up north and owning a swimming pool. You have to really love them for them to be worth it.

Both cars look great. its a buyers market right now. That rag top would have been 65-70K last years. The market is dropping so fast I have no clue what you could get it for today.
