$5000 to fix up my 69
Hey! Just wanted to share my project. 1969 standard coupe, beat to death. I've set aside $5000 to fix it up.
I'm bolting up a '71 subframe and I just picked up a L98 corvette TPI and 700R4 tranny for $1400. And my buddy is filming the process for Low Budget Garage so if you are interested in how I do it... or if I can tune in.

RE: $5000 to fix up my 69
That's the plan. $5000 out of pocket. Of course, if I can turn around and sell some parts, that will add to the pot. I figure it's just additional surplus for the end-of-project rush.
For instance, I will be selling the '69 subframe for a few hundred and now that I have the corvette motor... (oops, that's not on the show yet.) I can sell my 454.
So the 5K comes out of my bank account. The rest will come from selling parts... like we all have to do.
In any case, I'm still being challenged as to finishing it for that amount.
My dad's neighbor just dropped 20K into his Nova and it's just a motor and body.
I just wanted to show people that you can fix up your car and have fun without buying every new part in the catalog. And you can save a TON of cash doing it yourself.
We can all learn from each other.
PS: I saw your '67. Very nice. Cool dog too.
