DIY Oil Change on ZL1
I'd like to do DIY oil changes on my ZL1 so I can use better oil and have that sense of accomplishment.
I'm concerned that I won't be able to use my jack stands and jack without damaging the ground effects on the side of the ZL1. My jack stands are similar to these... https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/...rm=jack+stands And my jack is similar to this one... https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/...earchTerm=jack I don't really feel comfortable using a ramp because I'm afraid I'll somehow shoot past where I needed to stop and high center my car with the ramp. |
Why not got a length of 2X12 and make some wood ramps three layers tall?
Use a 2X2 for the end for a stop and carriage bolt the 2X2 onto the three-layer ramp. Cut the ends at 45° and drive up onto the ramp? |

Get yourself some jacking pucks, like the ones ZL1Addons sells. You can get also get very similar ones for about half the price on Amazon.
https://zl1addons.com/collections/camaro-jack-lift-pads Get yourself some hockey pucks, Amazon sells them as well and use the puck between the jack plate and the lift pads. It will give you about 1 inch of clearance from the panels on the side. |
