Default Advice Needed

Hey all,

I am new to this forum and I need some help. I am in the market for a car and I am In love with the 2016+ Camaro, but see there are people that do not want me to get a Camaro. This is a dumb question but does anyone have any convincing points to get a Camaro? Or any ways to convince them to let me get one?

Thank you all

First, welcome to the forum

it would be better if we knew what the arguments were against you getting a camaro, then we can tailor our responses to that.

thank you for the welcome. Ive been poking around for a bit and finally decided to make an account.

They say that its unsafe and that I would go too fast, like what someone would normally say when buying a sports car

also, dumb question, do only the SS trims have V8s?

FakeDistress,

I'm guessing that you are a new driver. Buying the Camaro is one thing. Keeping things right after that can be costly.
No offense intended here, just the reverse, but here are some common pitfalls to consider:
Is your driving record good? Do you attract traffic tickets? How much will Camaro plates and insurance cost you, at your age/experience level?
Cops will watch a young guy in any hot car. Cops may ignore a graybeard, who was doing everything the same as you.
If you lie about your driving history to the insurance company, they will love it - it's free money for them. You may get a policy number and pay them real money,
but you will find out that you never had any insurance, if you ever need it, if there was fraud involved. After an accident, they will check your driving record.
If a court orders you to pay damages after a wreck, even bankruptcy will not change how much money you owe.
Any amount of damages above your insurance limits will be on you alone to pay. You can increase your insurance limits, for a little extra money. Check out everything.
Best wishes.

Thank you for that info. your right in assuming im a semi new driver (ive driven for a couple years but still young enough for cops to be watching me) I havent gotten any tickets and driving record is good, but I do understand where concern comes from. Having a younger guy driving around a Camaro does attract attention, even if the guy in the ZL1 1LE is ripping it down the street next. to me. If you font mind I have a couple general questions about the Camaro.

Ive heard visibility isnt great with such a tinted windshield? Personal thoughts?

Do RS camaros have the option for a V8? I dont want to sound like one of those "V8 or nothing" guys, mind you, I love the V8, and I want to hear the rumble of it but ofc its not necessary. Especially for daily driving whats the ideal trim to look for?

Thank you

FakeDistress,

I have no problem with the window tint, but it is important to keep the front and rear glass very clean, inside and out. Even some dust or film becomes a solid blank wall in low-angle sunlight, due to the tilt of the glass. I think the big issue with visibility in my Gen4 is the window pillar between the rear and side windows. You can lose a small truck in that spread of steel. Mirrors can be made to help, but look twice, physically, because mirrors may not be enough.

For me, a Camaro is a "V-8 or nothing" ride. My Z-28 has the fuel-injected V-8, and I get 27 mpg on the open road. I would not settle for less.

Red42,

Thank you. I got to sit In a Camaro at a car show and the visibility did not seem too atrocious, and I might be correct in saying that camaros have blind spot so that helps.

I do want a V8. when I say its not necessary is ill drive a turbo v6 but it doest have the same feel. all the SS camaros are high right now, is the SS and up the only trim you can get a v8 on?

Thanks,
FakeDistress

Not sure if there's a V8 option aside from the SS but the new V6 cars are making plenty of power,300 hp is more than a lot of the earlier V8s had.
Here's a thought,go rent one for a day or two that should enlighten you quite a bit.
