A dyno tune will wring out a bunch more power on the V8s, but put some headers on to get the most from the tune.

GM HP ratings are at the crank, dyno ratings are typically at the rear wheels.

See above.....

The car makers give you engine rated HP, not what actually gets to the wheels. The cars lose power to make things work, such as everything between the engine and the wheels (drivetrain and whatnot). Kind of like how you can feel a drop in power when the AC kicks in.

This thread give me second thoughts. I knowledge of crank hp against whp but can tune of ECU and maybe other change get hp closer to crank hp claim?

I ask this thread about claims made by my cousin because he read posts at an audi forum says they can be faster than Camaro SS auto.

?does it mean crank hp is lie or just depends for the dyno kind? I think the Chevrolet company use this SAE standard hp claim now. Thank you for any answer.

2012 2SS automatic vert --

Bolt-ons include: K&N cold air intake, LG long tube headers (w/cats) and Borla exhausts (also LG lowering springs).

dynoed and tuned on an all wheel Mustang---------

Results are rear wheel numbers:

362rwhp/372rwtq.

Converted Crank numbers are: 452/465

All numbers would be higher on a DynoJet.
