Default Rough Idle?

I'm wondering if the LS3 has a wee bit of a lumpy cam causing it to idle a bit rough. RPM varies maybe +or - 50RPM when idling. Nothing extreme, but was wondering if this was normal.

I had a 2LT/RS that I traded in for the 2SS/RS so I'm just wanting to make sure this is okay? LOL

And I don't mean for it to be a dumb question. I'm quite serious here. LOL

Canuck SS:

Yes, the 2SS Camaro has somewhat of a rough idle that varies exactly as you describe. I've read on this site that it's because the engine has an aggressive cam.

I've had 2, 2010 2SS Cameros (one for only a month that I bought used with 15k on it before I traded it on a new one). Both had/have slightly rough idles. I've driven some new 2011s too and the idle was the same.

I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Thanks for that. I don't know if I would call it an aggressive cam, but it is a bit lumpy. LOL

I was wondering the same thing when I bought my 2011 Camaro. I ask the dealership and of course they had no idea so I went to my local motor head and he said there must be a pretty hot cam in this car. I love the rough idle myself.

Mine does the same thing (LS3). I had Onstar do a diagnostic and they said there were no codes, so I'll just enjoy the lumpy idle. -Plus, it feels great and sounds even better with an aftermarket exhaust!
Cheerz!
