2010 SS feels like a V6 - Help!
Hi folks, I'm brand spankin new.
My sister just bought 2010 SS (2SS) auto car with very low miles from an older guy that rarely drove the car. It's got about 13K miles on it and appears to be in flawless condition.
She brought it over so I could check it out last night. When I drove it I noticed a few things. Keep in mind that I'm not a Camaro guy and have very little knowledge about this car.
1) The exhaust is incredibly quiet. Is that normal? I expected some sort of rumble.
2) When at WOT, the car sounds alot like a V6. It's smooth (not missing), but certainly doesn't feel or sound like a V8.
3) The car is downright slow. From what I've read, 0-60 should be about 4.6 seconds. This one feels like it needs about 7.
4) I punched it at about 15 mph and it wouldn't downshift. It stayed in what I assume was 2nd gear and worked its way up the revs.
More info that may help:
The car is a somewhat rare color that she's really into (a teal-blue) and she ended up finding just what she wanted about 600 miles away. She had the car checked out by Firestone (haha - I know) and ran two bottles of seafoam fuel cleaner through it on the way home. She's running strictly 93 octane. Oh, and YES I verified it's a V8 under the hood. I actually had to check after my test drive.
I really appreciate any help or any ideas you might have for things to check out!

what i think is that is has one of the best 376 ci devloped engines of today ,,i think if you take a car equal or say just 350ci with 426hp an 413tlbs ,2010 all the restriction on the engine i think play a big role ,not sure they had 4cyl to 8cyl for gas mileage ,but some have switch i think an some do it Automatically ,but take an older car with the same Hp say my 406 413hp an high 458tlbs totaly unrestricted ,wich one will feel like it has more get up an go ,i know for me just haveing true duals feels like 50hp ,i have heard them to quiet ,i would think the right exhaust would make a huge difference ,i also think thats why cars are ameking more hp couse people want them ,an the more smog crap they put on them the more hp they need ,then some have so much hp ,they put governers on them ,so as much as one can get away with ,i would say in the 27 out 52 states that have not inspection at all wich i was surprized to find out resently ,one can do alot with these new mussle cars ,i would start with the exhuast an air filter system, that should make huge impact ,couse the hp is there it just needs to be let out ,an there figures from factory are ussallly low ,an gear ratio wich on an ss i would think high,i got to say though for 20.000 to 30.000 for a desent used one ,theres alot of them out there ,an just need the right tuneing to make them monsters,an for what you get the prices seem right when compared to actual V6

if you still have it. Did you do the fuse pull? Mine that I recently bought had a real sluggish feeling. Did the fuse pull and noticed an instant change.
