Default Whats the best way to add low-end HP?

I just added a K&N CAI and I feel a difference in the high-end. I also hear a whistle noise when I give it some gas. I assume its doing its job and sucking more air into the engine. As far as the rest of the car stock to the bone. What would u add to increase low-end HP?

342 gears. you should try a tune at a place like pcmforless or solomon.

Lower gears won't add any power, but will let the car get off the line quicker. For more low end power you need more displacement, or a truck style cam, or a power adder such as a supercharger, nitrous, or nitro.

So does one get low gears? I heard adding header increase HP on the low end. Any truth to that?

headers add to high end. lower gears lower the power band, same power just get it at lower speed. need more cubes, lol, need more money, stroke to 383.

Add tuned-length long tube headers which add power in the lower RPM band... Unfortunately many header manufacturers do not do this sort of testing and tuning for specific RPM bands -- phoning big companies like Kooks nets no real answers on HP and where it is seen in the bands... It's too bad, and we should demand that header & exhaust manufacturers provide this level of detail along with dyno charts, IMHO.

SLP describes one of their offerings this way: http://www.slponline.com/view_produc...48&BIG=30048-1

"The New Long Tube Headers will produce +11 HP and + 10 ft-lbs in the 4800-6200 RPM Range compared to the Tuned Length Design. As the current Tuned Length Design will produce +7 HP and + 12 ft-lbs additional in the 2600-3400 RPM range compared to the New Long Tube Header Design.

YES there is a difference between a "TUNED LENGTH HEADER" and a "LONG TUBE HEADER". A Tuned Length Header as can be seen on the dyno graph below has primary lengths designed to provide power at a certain RPM band. In the case of the SLP Tuned Length Header 2500-4000 RPM. While a Long Tube Header has as long as possible primaries to provide the best possible gain in the higher RPM ranges. "

Note unfortunately, SLP makes no 5th Gen V6 Headers, but others do...
