Transmission Fail at 240 miles?!
Ok, so I am a newbie, and I hate that I have to make this as my first post.
After 240 miles the 2011 is at the dealer.
Symptoms - at 240 miles our 2011 V6 began shifting hard into 1st. It would hunt around the gears if you were under ~25 mph, but from a start it would lurch so hard it was like a tranmission slam, and the GPS would fly off the dash.
We took it in immediately. I was hoping it was a software issue.
Dealership called today to say that they need to drop the tranny to diagnose, and they may need to replace the transmission?!
Has any one else experienced this?

Just got the car returned after 9 days in the shop. Dealership had to rebuild the transmission because "we are not sure the same thing wouldn't show up if we ordered another".
So now I have a brand new car with a rebuilt transmission? Is there any way to request compensation for diminished value from Chevrolet?

yah that doesnt sound right does it. "and this is my new camaro with a rebuilt transmission" so you got any lawyer type buds that you could have call em to inquire about information for a court action. at least do some research on the lemon law and see what, if any, paths there is for you. did you ask about a replacement new car? 250 miles man thats bull. i would think they would bring in a new trans and make the update on the new trans and install it.

As far as i know the 2010 and 2011 both have the same transmission, from what i could find it looks like this is a hit or miss issue... i have mine at 6800 miles... no issues from me.. however i do know that newer manual cars will not let you put it into first after your over a certain speed whether the clutch is engaged or not. you actually have to slow the car down to get it into first. On a side note to that i have heard of some kits that bypass this. if anyone finds one i wouldn't mind a link to it. hope this helped a little.
