Why did you choose the Camaro?

The 67 was my dads and I remember riding in it when I was 5 (over 30 years ago) with my fingers in the heater vents, steering it while dad pushed from time to time. Then having it in high school, blowing the engine out on the way to AIT at Ft Gordon (about 20 years ago).
I have twin boys now so the issue will be who gets the 1st gen and who gets the revival 5th gen. Plus I am grown up now and have decided to go with domestics from now on, try to help out you know.

Well for me, it was more the looks.
It definitely looks better then the 'new' 2011 Mustang.
As for the challenger, it was a bit too heavy and the gas mileage was not that good for the size and power.
Man, I love how everyone stares at my baby!

I have to admit, I am and have always been a GM lover. So, there is of course some bias. I did test drive the challenger R/T. It was okay. I can't remember what the gas mileage was for the R/T, but I know the Camaro V6 blows it away. I haven't reset my Average Fuel Economy indicator since I picked up the car. It is at 24.2 mpg after 7200 miles. I don't get into it very often, but I still think that is great gas mileage for the performance. The performance of the R/T didn't seem better than the RS I test drove. Sad considering the R/T has 2 liters more engine in it. Every time I blink my eye there's a mustang. Superior performance or not, I'll pass. The final straw for me was the sexy body style of the Gen 5. Can't beat it!
