WHEN can we buy it?
Does anybody in the know have any info on release dates and the such? All I have heard from a chev salesperson and I think he is blowing smoke is that it will be out around june-aug next year.
Another thing is the trend of dealerships taking the fully optioned limited editions and selling them on Ebay for a LOT over MSRP, like $20,000 more! I deplore that tactic and I hope others think the same and we need to voice our concern whereever or however.

I live north of Anchorage Alaska and we have two GM dealerships locally, one is a straight GM and the other a Lithia Chevrolet dealership, I bought my Silverado from the more established GM Alaska Sales and Service, also my wifes Aztek, the Lithia store does little to impress me with service so I will stay with the GM dealer and they do sell the Chevrolet at their other store in Anchorage which means I will just have to travel a bit. Customer service means a lot to me.
I'm Way behind the power curve! I thought that it would be ready for us around June of 08" , I asumed that we may have to wait a few months on the SS but 2010 that just sounds STUPID to me. Man That SUCKS! I'm going to LOOSE my mind if I have to wait untile 10" to get MY SS!!!! I hope that's not the case. I have over $5,000 saved and I can't wait, but if GM wants to drag this out any longer I say it's Bad for Sales. How long can they keep us on the line and expect us to wait?

. Seriously, Chevy has said for quite some time that it would be a 2009/2010 model, it will be available in the first quarter of 2009 as a 2010 model. If it were a "true" 2009 model it would be available Sept./Oct. 2008, production does not even start until fourth quarter 2008. As for the top dog model being available even later (whether it is Z/28, SS or whatever), that is quite often the case for many manufacturers/models. Look at the original Camaro introduction for the '67 model year, the SS396 and the Z/28 were mid year additions that were not available when the Camaro was released in Sept. 1966.Clyde
Just talking to some guys around my local Chevrolet dealership, they expext the v6 coupe to be available early February of 09 and the v8 coupe more towards April or May. But like LT1Runner said, they will more than likely just suprise us all by throwing it out there in showrooms across the country in mid-late 08.

Just found this site and thought i could give some insight. I work for one of the MFD plants and we were told that one of our plants ( The Oshawa 2 plant) will be closing after christmas this year and then the plant will be outfitted to build the new camaros. so most of the reports that in late 08 they will go into production and be available in 09.
