Buy the ZL1 and post up some pics for us. Might as well have the biggest and baddest if you're pockets are that deep. LOL. Hey if you do get one I'd be curious to know what your insurance rates are as well. I remember my payments on a porsche turbo were almost 3k a year and that was 25 years ago and I was 23.
Welcome to CF by the way.

There are many different options for the Camaro. Possibly the best one (if you can get it) would be the ZL1. Allocations have been allotted and ordering will begin soon or has begun already. Of course for an 18 year old customer I would have to suggest the 2LT. It's a V6 that has tons of power with 323 horsepower and 278 ft-lbs of torque. It has all the gadgets too. It has the 4 pack gauge cluster, the Heads Up Display, Boston Acoustic sound system, Bluetooth audio streaming and our new Rear Vision Camera for backing up this beast of a machine. You should be very happy with the 2LT. I'd suggest taking many different Camaro's for a test drive to see which one you like best. I hope this helps you make up your mind!

The ZL1 which is already suggested by so others too is the best option. But if you are going to do any modifications, then go for a used one and experiment with that. With new, the original things are best up and tweaking them after a year run is feasible.

I would go with the 2lt as CCS suggested or the 1SS to keep your payments low. the ZL1 is obviously the most bang for the buck, but really who can afford it. I would have loved to have a ZL1 but realistically it wasnt an option financially. maybe someday down the road ill supercharge my SS and be in the same realm of power for a much smaller chunk of change

Buy a 2010 or 2011 Camaro SS and modify it with heads, cam, headers, a twin screw blower (Kenne Bell or Whipple), a custom tune, Bogart 17" custom wheels to fit drag slicks, some stiffened suspension (there are several good ones on the market), a roll cage and YOU WILL BE HAPPY and much faster (low tens in the quarter mile) for less money than the ZL-1.

When I bought my current Camaro last November, I found it on cars.com. It is a 2010 2SS with the RS package. It had only 8600 miles on it and I saved several thousands of dollars than buying new. When I went to the Buick dealer and saw it, it looked brand new...
As for the ZL-1, I hear they cost about $55K... that's a lot of money. I think I'd rather get a SS and build it to my liking and save some money. I can put a supercharger on my Camaro and it would still be cheaper than buying a new SS.

Dude i dont know how you have the cash for this type of investment but god bless you. I just graduated college and landed myself a pretty solid job. Camaro's have always been one of my dream cars and when they released the 5th gen i fell in love all over again (no homo)but i could never relistically afford one. Now that i have this job i should be able too in about a years time so i need some info. (Sounds like we are in the same boat Saint)

The SS will do bc after the first year ill start making some after market swaps and with time and care i know you can really make them haul. But now with the release of the ZL1, i am totally second quessing myself. The ZL1 isnt just a more powerful Camaro. It is better in every aspect of what makes great cars great. The handling is super improved, power got the big boy upgrades and style and tech, off the charts. So i guess its time to ask my question. What would be a better and more rewarding car, ZL1 or SS?
I am willing to put time and part into both and make absolute supercars out of either, but i want to enjoy every ride around the corner from the start. Any ideas?
