Default went to the dealership...

on saturday and I was looking at a 1LT camaro with the connectivity package, and bose sound system. It was priced at $27,533 on sale for $26,383.00. I was able to negotiate to $25,500.00 with 1.9% financing. This is where I ran into a problem, I only want my monthly payments to be no more than 350.00 per month. I was going to put $8,000.00 down and what ever I get for my trade in. I was told the only way to get down to $350.00 per month is if I can get $3,000.00 for my trade in (Which we all know a dealership will not give me that high of a price for a 2001 sunfire, great condition, with 94,500 miles on it). I did not have my car present at the time of negotiations

I walked out without a car, but was wondering if there was anyone else out there that had this same problem. Wanted to stick to a monthly budget and the dealer would not budge.

Anyone have any suggestions if I do go back to the same dealer on Sat?

Side note: I am very picky on what I want as far as the camaro goes, I will only take a cyber grey and it must have the connectivity package, anything else is just an extra in my book.

25500.00
-8000.00 down

-1500.00 trade in
=16000.00 financed for 4 years
at 1.9% =346.42
what's the problem again?

The dealership is telling me that I need to trade my vehicle in for at least $3,000.00 in order to get $350.00 monthly payments. Otherwise my payments are going to be over $400.00 for 4 yrs.

Is the 1.9% only available on 3 year loans?

How about 3.9% being offered on 4 years? If you got 2k for your trade and
8k down for these terms your looking at 349. per month.

They must be including sales tax and title and registration fees in the financing also.
Did you get the deal they offered in writing? Wondering what they had for amount to be financed.

Yes,

I did get the deal in writing, but they said it was only good for the day that we were there (they wanted me to bring in my trade in on the spot). They did include sales tax, and all of that other garbage, but kept telling my family if I want a $350 per month option they would need at leas $3,000.00 for my trade in. I did not get it at all. On the written contract it does not say how much was left over to finance which I thought was odd. I know they want to sell and I want to buy, but I dont understand the numbers they are coming up with

Bring your car in so they can see what their getting. Sounds like they would be willing to give you 3k but want to verify it before they can get serious about writing up a deal.
