tires flat spotting during storage?
My brother in law is worried about his BF Goodrich G-Sport tires flat spotting on his 2012 RS while in storage in my heated shed. Is this a possibility? Would pumping up the tire pressure to 40 or 45 help? TIA

How long is the storage? If you are just talking about winter I would not worry to much about it. Long term storage you should jack that car up get it on solid stands to get the weight off the tires and the suspension.
Steel belted radials will get a flat spot in them over winter but once you drive them a few miles the steel belt goes back to round. The old bias ply tires used to get ruined with a heavy flat spots.

I had BF Goodrich G-Sport tires on my Elky and stored it in my garage during the Central VA winters. I never had a problem w/ flat spotting. Winters may be more severe and/or longer where you live. But IMO, you have nothing to worry about.

Unfortunately my Performance vehicles have to sit outside all winter long here in NY where we have some pretty severe winters. I've been doing it for over 20 years and never once had tire issues outside ProStreet Vehicles with bias ply tires. Even there as said once you drive them a bit the tires go back to normal.

Forget the tires flat spotting. What about disconnecting the negative battery terminal so you're not draining the battery with any keep alive memory. Also if it will be in storage for longer than 4 months I would recommend a fuel stabilizer. Tires would be the last concern.
