i was reading some where online, forgot where, but that there will be a 3.6, 3.8, LS1 5.7, LS2 6.0, and LS3 6.2(and supercharged).
prices being(if memory serves)19k, 22k, 29k, 34k, and 41k.
having horses of 200, 230, 380, 420, and 560(560 and 420 mite be a lil high,memory >.&lt
and claiming that once again, the 3.8 will beat base model 4.6 mustangs(doubtfully though) and that the LS3 will be almost a second faster than the 500 horse mustang.

although, i dont remember site or if it is reliable.

i hope this is reliable cuz it all sounds pretty good 2 me.lol

If what I saw in my Automobile mag is correct than expect the top of the line camaro to be more than you think. They said that the c7 vette will be a mid engined car, which will price it well out a camaro territory. If they do I think its awesome. In my eyes the vette is what killed the camaro in 02. If it is true than just imagine how nasty the vette will look. Also they could make as many special editions camaros as mustangs, and price them however they want. See now I am what happen to the camaro, from the time I was 18 to 28 I've had 68,69,00 camaro and 98 ws6 I bought new. Now I'm 28 with no kids I've been thinking about buying a vette or a viper. With news about mid engined c7 to the new ls9 coming out maybe I could get a ls7 zo6 used. It's almost a guarantee that the new camaro will be offered some how with a supercharger. Thats great and all the damn thing is going to weigh 4000lbs even with around 550-600hp thats alot of car. Just like the shelby gt500 yea 500hp but its heavy, I've never seen a stock one run any lower than a mid 12, weak.

If they sold the new Camaro with 500hp for 40g's then why would anyone want to buy the Z06 for 70-80k? The Vette would not sell plus you can't have your second most recognized Camaro beating your flag ship Vette on a daily basis. The Camaro has always been the poor mans Vette.

Hey guys new to the forum. I believe Chevy needs to come out with the Chevelle and the Camaro to really compete with the Mustang. Before you start flamming me listen why, with all the variations pony, GT, Saleen, Roush, ShelbyGT, Shelby GT500 Cobra, KR, SuperSnake, not counting the Boss, Mach1, Bullit, Shelby GT350 and King Cobra. Ford can counter with all the Camaros and Vettes hence the Chevelle.Ford can match GM in HP car to car and already have a big headstart in the aftermarket and R/D for the next generation of GM/ MOPAR. Ive owned a 55 belair, 70 Chevelle, and a 87 IROC Z/28. And thinking about the new Camaro as a daily driver when they come out but leaning towards the pony. I grew up in the HotRod age of the 60s and 70s and love both the Stangs and 60s chevys. The Retro look really does it for me and got me a 07 Shelby GT500 Cobra in Dec. I just wish that the Camaro will come out sooner.

People who buy vette's are pretty loyal to the brand. Most people who are in the market for a vette aren't going to be interested in a camaro unless they just need some extra seats. The vette is America's sports car. Also the vette doesn't weigh 4k lbs. It is also an extremely good handler. I would bet that a 500hp 4k lbs camaro probably wouldn't beat a stock c6, maybe if you put some drag radials. But im absolutely positive what I heard back when they confirmed camaro for prod. I saw an interview with someone from chevy. They said the camaro and corvette don't compete.I think so to the vette is a legend in perf. and handling. The camaro looks good and is better suited for a straight line against other muscle cars.

Chevy Doesnt need to have 100 different renditions of its car, the RS Z and the SS will be more then enough, Ford , well i dont know what the deal is there or as to why their making that many models, their practically all the same tom e anyway.

the new camaro is s'pose to be mediocre at handling and shine at stright racing, with such things as being able to turn rear end into a posi(what ive hear) with push of a bottom. but as said, it will be a heavy car, specially with all the new tech in seats, stereo, dash etc.., then it's gonna have half metal panels. would be nice if it could atleast grab at a vettes leg, but then no sense in having a vette. i just hope they make it a stallion killer.

o, and idk what you guys talking bout, but my dead has a 99 LS1 vette with a supercharger, 2grand corsa exhaust, and flawless paint job with 13k miles that he got for 26k... so yes, most people would prolly choose one of those over a new camaro, especially seing how it'll no longer be on the "F" platform.
