Default Oil Temp measurement

OK, I've got one for all the 2010 Camaro gurus out there - where is engine oil temp measured at on the LS3? There is no sensor on the engine - the one in the pan is oil level (the signal wire goes to pin 33 on J2 of the E38 which is oil level).

The car has an engine oil temp gauge in the console. I'm beginning to think that, since the car has an oil-to-water cooler on the side of the engine, the oil temp gauge reading is just an offset of water temp and not a true measurement of oil temp.

Jon

ps If anyone is looking for any take off parts from 2010 2SS cars search on eBay for items for sale by seller rileytechnologies.
