Default New to this group and to the camaro life.

Hey all. My names zach. I have a 2011 camaro rs. I bought the car from a buddy who subleased it to a dude who basically didnt care for the car one bit. Apparently the only known issue was a hydraulic lifter in the head but when it was taken to a near by auto parts store it was scanned which revealed 16 different codes. Idk the codes only because i wasnt present at the time due to being at work. The car runs and drives. Only thing i know is that the dash said engine on reduced power, when being driven it has high rpms till it shifts, when its started and given gas theres a tapping/knocking but you cant feel it when touching the car. Apparently from what the autopart store tech he said i need a whole new engine as well as theres gas in the oil which idk about. This is my first american made car. Only owned 2 cars in my life a 2000 eclipse and a 2013 scion frs. Idk what to do at this point any suggestions?

first off change the oil. can you post a recording/video? could be lifter or something else. knowing the codes would be good.

how is the oil pressure, not jumping around? very inconsistent, almost sounds like something is bouncing around inside. can you tell where its coming from,,, front, back, top, bottom.

Nope oil pressure is fine. Seems like it's coming from the passenger side of the car but tbh idk. From what the tow truck driver just said as i had to tow it from my buddys to my house is that its the lifter thats clogged and its causing the noise

lifter should be more of a rattle or tick. but then im not up to speed on what lifters the newer v6 has. if they are the on demand lifters i know nothing about them.

going to have to locate what side and dig in. be a good idea to pick up a shop manual so you know what your in for. what tools needed and so on.
