Damn that's messed up, and that dealership isn't too far from me like 20 min. I'll make sure to tell everyone about this.

What ticks me off is GM isn't doing much of anything about this. What ever happened to making sure the customer left happy? I know that's one thing we're taught at work (Advance) is to do whatever we can so the customer leaves happy or at the very least walks out knowing we tried everything we could to get what they needed.

The dealer just bought the camaro back at a little above the blue book value. There still trying to make the owner look bad tho.
The best part was when the dealers attorney said something very funny.
''A car of that style needs to be driven hard to test for the problem he stated. It is a high performance car and is not likely to be damaged in such a way."

Your kidding right?

Not in the dealer's defense, but car manufacturers do have a habit of building cars right at the threshold of durability. My nephew used to have an 05 GTO with a manual trans, that he bought new. One hard launch to try and make the tires light up is all it took to cause the clutch to slip and burn (the wrong thing smoked). Once that happens to a clutch, that's all she wrote. He replaced the clutch setup with a much better one. You'd think GM should use better stuff given the type of car it is, but better parts costs more, and that hurts their bottom line. He would have had to replace the clutch anyway, as shortly after that he installed a supercharger.

Yeah lol, hey shop I think my car is breaking, can you break some more things please?
And how are they possibly trying to make the owner look bad still? Oh he dropped the car off to set us up, he just wanted us to buy him a new one.

I remember another story from my ex-brother in law who used to be a mechanic at a Chevy dealer. There was a warranty car in that had an internal engine noise. They weren't sure what the problem was, so they took the car out on the highway, dropped in into first gear, and put the gas pedal to the floor. Didn't take long before the engine went boom. "Found the problem"!

That line alone damn near made me **** myself when I first read it. I'm on the Camaro5 forum, and the owner of the car posted a thread about this situation there. He said that he needed it checked AT PARKING LOT SPEEDS. I'm not sure what kind of idiot would drive a car hard at parking lot speeds. And let's not forget that they claim the owner probably drove it hard (OK, but he bought the damn car, NOT YOUR TECHS, and he didn't take it there for you idiots to melt the clutch and try to screw him, let alone GM). I also nearly lost it at the "misleadingly edited audio" bs. IDK what's so misleading about that dealership's techs doing burnouts in the customer's car, bragging about abusing other customers' cars, AND talk about ripping off the customer and GM after THEY melted the clutch. Plus, very nice that the dealership's employees think of customers as "f**kers".

It's cool that it's made its way around. I first saw the video on Facebook Monday. Then it was on WYFF earlier this week. I've wondered if he is on this board? I dont think that dealership has been here long. I actually couldn't even name it until the tv story did.
