Can't Get One

Can't Get One
Well my time with a Camaro isn't going to happen. I ordered an RS/SS in Red Jewel Tintcoat on Mar 29 and am now told that due to pigment shortages I can't get the colour. I then said ok to the Cyber Gray Mettalic. No to that too. The salesman is checking to see if there are any cars that match my specs available at other dealers but that's unlikely as I order ground effects as well. At this point I may check out what else is available myself or maybe wait for the 2012s to be out.
What really ticks me off is that it has taken almost a month and me chasing the dealer for a build date to find this out.

Isn't that what they were calling the same color as RJT on the Vettes???....kinda like Hugger Orange/Monaco Orange

It's not the same color. they are close, but there's about a 10% difference(from what I can tell on photos and a color chart I saw).
I don't get it, but apparently that exact color red (RJT) is imported ONLY from Japan. With all the troubles over there, they just simply ran out. So they found another source with a similar color, but since it isn't the same, they gave it another name.

that is bad news and just bad luck
i wouldnt compromise on the color though/don't settle for your second choice because car color is pretty much forever; what about picking up a used 2010 in that RJT? I see a lot of 2010's being sold for cheap and they have like 1500 miles on them and stuff

I looked for over two months before I found my 2010 SS in Victory Red with the options I wanted. I do not regret the wait. Also, some dealers trade better than others. Think about that. Don't compromise....it's your ride.

Thanks for all the input. I do like the Victory Red so either colour is good for me. The dealer trade is done and I pick the car up on Friday. I'm having the two black stripes on the hood/trunk put on it before I get it.
There was a Red Jewel Tintcoat available in convertible but it had an auto and the manual is more important to me.
I have seen some 2010s around for cheap but they have 10,000 to 20,000 miles. Most are GM exec cars while some are rentals from Miami and LA. They're not even a consideration for me.

IBM - not available either
I just got lucky. There is the same problem with Imperial Blue Metallic. I scoured the internet, worked with dealer. Finally found one and picked up my new 2011 IBM SS vert yesterday..
I'm so stoked!!
Anyone know if IBM is being discontinued. My dealer said he thinks it is. I may be interested in grounde effects and I'm worried about matching paint.
