Default Camaro on its way

New to the forums here. I currently have a 2009 G8 V6 and decided now was the time to step up a bit. My plan was to find a nice Camaro, very little options - stay economical... Well I now have the dealership doing a dealer trade for a 2011 Camaro 1Lt with RS package, Convenience and connectivity package and Boston Acoustics sound system... So much for economical.

Questions: How is the ride in the RS with the 20s vs a standard 1LT with 18s?
Is the RS package worth the money?

I dont know about the RS package, I think the SS was worth it. Pretty sure the only thing the RS gave was different lights. I dont think that is worth any $$$, but just my opinion.

Welcome, BTW.

why not step up to a G8 GXP? Will cost less than a Camaro SS and will have the same LS3 and 6 spd with more luxury (and looks better imo)

Well the RS package also gets you 20 rims and tires, rear spoiler, HID headlights. My main question is how it rides on the 20s?

This is a 1LT with the RS package - V6. Trying to keep insurance costs down and this is going to be a daily driver.

Ahh got ya. The 20's and spoiler come with the SS already. I havent driven on 18's in a while, but the 20's arent too bad, and I drive on a crap road every day. My insurance is only around $250 for 6 months, I am 36 with a good record. Have you done a test drive? Im sure they would let you try both.

Didnt Pontiac go out of business? Not trying to be a ****, but can you still buy them new? I never looked.

Yeah they are gone, but you can still find "New" Pontiacs on the lots and super low mileage 2009's out there. Only reason I am suggesting the G8 GT or GXP here is that he has a sixxer now and is trying to keep insurance costs low; a V8 G8 will give you more power and comfort and cost less on insurance than the Camaro. just my opinion though

Don't get me wrong. I really like my G8 but I drive a lot of miles and have had it for two years so I can still make money on it even trading it in and I really want a Camaro so the timing is right. It has 42,000 miles now but in another year it will have well over 60,000 and I'm not one to hang on to a vehicle for long. The Camaro is the same insurance cost as my G8.

I wonder if I will even see 40K. The Camaro is ging on 2 years now and just hit 14K, and that is driving it everyday.
